This group of Argentinian musicians
based in Madrid, Spain, has been dedicated since
1995
to bringing the fascinating and passionate world of Tango to the listening
public.
What
gives Tango
Quattro
and their music a unique and intriguing savour are their arrangements and
instrumentation, which are urbane and
modern while keeping faith with
Tango´s essential
roots.
With
an ideal combination of musical instruments Tango
Quattro
is
capable of interpreting a repertory which covers the entire history of
Tango, from the typical
milongas such
“El Porteñito” by A. Villoldo, first written
in 1903, to the unforgettable heritage of Carlos Gardel and Discépolo, up
to the “big city music” of Astor Piazzolla: “Estaciones Porteñas”,
“Adios, Nonino”, and
“ Milonga del Ángel”.
Tango
Quattro created a polished
and popular
show with Tango dancers entitled “El
Arte del Tango”which has been and continues to be a
hit in Marbella, Santander, Lugo and Madrid.
The theatres of Madrid, Barcelona, Santander, Lugo, San Sebastian have known Tango
Quattro´s performances
during the last five years and this group has begun to make itself
known in some of Europe´s
International Festivals:
In
1998
“Mercat de Música Viva”in Vic
In
1999 Tango
Quattro
performed in the show “Cabaré Borges” directed by Guillermo Heras en
La Casa de America
In
2000,
Tango
Quattro
shared the stage with Eduardo Falú, one of Argentine´s folkore´s living myths
in Cracow, Poland
In this same year, Tango
Quattro
first appeared in the Festival International
in San Sebastian.
In 1996
Tango
Quattro
recorded their first CD "Fin de siglo" with such well-beloved
tangos as
"La Cumparsita", "El Porteñito", "Adios
Nonino", "Mi Buenos Aires Querido", etc.
In October of 2000 their second CD, "El Arte del Tango" came into being: a showcase
for
Tango
Quattro´s interpretation
of
Piazzolla´s
magic including "Las Cuatro Estaciones
Porteñas".

Fabián Carbone |

Our

in interpretation and musical arrangements.

Ezequiel Cortabarría

Also
from Buenos Aires...
His
Professors: the soloists of the Colon Theatre of Buenos Aires, and the

Mario
Soriano
|
|
Our
pianist is from Córdoba (Argentina)… Piano, theory, improvisation,
choral direction are what he studied in the Conservatory… but most important of
all...the art of physiotherapy…. which
we often need to enter the stage in good shape.
What he tries to hide: he plays the guitar and loves Argentinian folkloric
music.

The
other woman in his life is the world of sobbing sopranos, doomed tenors,
noble baritones and brooding basses: the world of Opera. |

An Argentinian Spaniard........
He´s a
specialist in the "exotic" cello, playing early music,

enamoured of tango´s passion.
